At the recent comittee meeting held at Colnerne on the 18th February it was agreed that a presentation of a piece of sterling silver tableware in the shape of a Chinook Helicopter, shown above, to commemmorate the successful regimental operations and withdrawal from Iraq would be in order.
The inscription on the plinth reads:
'Presented by the Air Formation Signals Association to 21st Signal Regiment (Air Support) on Saturday, May 8th, 2010, to mark the end of the Regiment's participation in Operation TELIC, 20th March 2003 to 4th August 2009, and the supreme sacrifice made by Signaller Paul William Didsbury.'
The presentation is to be made at the Annual Reunion Dinner in May.
The cost of this piece of tableware is 2,291.25 pounds including VAT. Certain members of the committee have pledged to cover the cost of the piece in the first instance so that it may be ready for the presentation date. This is an appeal to raise the required funding.
Donations may be made by cheque made out to 'Air Formation Signals Association' and sent to Chairman. Treasurer or Publicity Officer.
Please mark the cheque 'Chinook Appeal'
