5th Air Formation Signals

Formed in April 1941 from 1 Coy, 3 AFS. Served RAF bases in Palestine. At the end of the war in Europe it is understood that the unit handed over its responsibilities to 4 AFS and returned to the UK for employment in the invasion of Japan.
