Surrendered its Air Formation Signals role to 21st Signal Regiment less than three months after being re-numbered. The Regiment then became the 1 (BR) Corps Radio Regiment and finally disbanded on 19th September 1992.

The Regiment was reformed in 2007/08 based in Stafford.
